My name is Marshall Moon and I am a recent graduate of the Masters and Teaching Credential program at Santa Clara University. In addition to my Master's degree from SCU, I also possess a Bachelor's degree from San Jose State University in Design Studies emphasis in Graphic Design. In 2009 I decided to move to South Korea to teach English, there I found my passion for teaching. I worked as an English teacher for close to 10 years and gained so much as a teacher and as a person. Teaching fuels my desire to help to better the lives of my students, society, our country and the world.
In 2019, I entered into the Master's in Teaching program at Santa Clara University. I learned so much about different strategies used in the classroom but also a compassion towards all students, focusing on educating the whole child. Alongside my studies, I was placed at Marshall Pomeroy Elementary School and was a student teacher during the 2019-2020 school year. I worked very closely with my master teachers, one who was an alumni of SCU and the other who had been taking student teachers from SCU for over 20 years. I was able to observe the application of the effective strategies that were taught in class and also had opportunities to apply them myself.
Although this will be my first year teaching multiple subjects, I am not new to teaching. I am confident, ready and committed to being the best teacher I can be and I look forward to dedicating my life to being a lifelong learner to myself and for my students.
